Born in 1946 in Jiangsu Province, Wu Zhaoxiang was destined to be an enigmatic figure himself. A martial artist and scholar with a storied lineage that includes such greats as Xu Yuanxue, Mai Zhenghou, Fan Keping, Zhuang Yuanning, Xi Yuntai among others. He became not only their student but also passed on his knowledge to future generations like Zhang Jindang and Zhang Shiqing.
His life was marked by challenges both within academia as well as outside it. He attended international conferences twice before publishing sixteen books on Chinese martial arts including "The Art of Chinese Martial Arts," "A Guide to Chinese Martial Arts," "Drunk Fist," "Body Technique," "How to Train in Martial Arts," “College Sports Manual,” “Olympic Movement.” His research papers numbered over forty.
Recently he took up several research projects like examining humanism in Olympic Games & Beijing Olympics culture which would help understand how sports could foster peace between nations while keeping health issues faced by college athletes at bay through Andar Gymnastics teaching methods research etcetera.
